Hi Fellow Writers,

First of all, thanks to Wayne Minshall for sharing the whys and hows behind his decision to self-publish his book, Wilderness Brothers. Also, thank you to our readers, Zee and Nathan!

This Saturday, 4-6pm at the Marshall Public Library, we have a special poetry workshop in the first hour presented by Åsa Burlin, a graduate student at Idaho State University who works at the Anderson Gender Center, and who is also a friend of mine. This is going to be a hands on workshop, so bring your pencils/pens and creative possibilities along with you.

Second hour, we have time for three readers.  If anyone is interested in taking one of our three slots (keep your reading time to no more than 15 minutes), sign up by leaving a comment on this post.

See you Saturday and as always, happy reading!

You could read your poem on the radio, but you need to act fast. See this:

Our festivities for National Poetry Month continue to grow!  In addition to the poetry wall, we’re inviting local poets to read original poetry for airing on the library’s radio show.  The show is entirely pre-recorded so I will record the poets at the library in the weeks before the show.  If any of the Minnie Howard Writers are interested, they may call me at 232-1263 ext. 22 to set up a time to record.  The show will air on April 13 and is only a half-hour long so it’s a good idea to call as soon as possible to ensure a spot.  Please feel free to call or email if you have any questions, and thank you for helping to spread the word!
Take care,
Amy
